Southern Summers

As I stepped into the parking lot this afternoon, thunder moving closer and closer and the beginning of rain drops began splashing down, the air was filled with the aroma of wet hot pavement, sending my senses flying back through time to other moments just like this one. Extraordinary how our brain is sparked by our senses. Later as I stepped out of my car, another smell of hot wet humidly - yes it is definitely a southern summer.

Summertime and the Living is Easy - well, for me it has been one of my busy times. A new grandson, lots of research both professionally and personally, creating a cover for a grand piano, on and on the list goes.

It is within those moments that our senses pick up those memory moments that give us that brief moment to remember the simple things and we smile, we sigh and we then turn to continue on our busy lives - even in the summertime.

For us here in the south, summer will remain for a little longer, school is back in session and for some reason we don't have the cool crisp weather that seems to be associated with a new school year. Nevertheless, the smells of the hot steamy pavement and the sounds of yellow school bus passing by, I found myself remembering how much I enjoy being in the south in the summer. . . . . .

Once again a side note: I am trying to find a working camera, so I can begin to post pictures of my new Connect the Dots Journal, maybe tomorrow. . . . And on Friday I will have a working session with my mentor and boss on getting my Website in order.

Thanks for stopping by and keep on coming back, for you don't want to miss what might just pour into my blog.
