This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of hosting Twicechosen.net's initiative Worth Of Worth Holiday Fun - Fashion and Food Event at the Club House of the apartments I live in.
It was great Fun! It was Fabulous! Fashions from Monkey Charms! Makeovers by Arbonne! Great Tips! Great Sharing! Not to mention - Food - Food - Food!
Everyone had a great time. Lots of laughter and lots of great insights on how to look like a Million on a dime, serve wonderful festive food and not break the grocery budget. A little goes a long way.
With a brief overview of Twicechosen.net and the mission of the Women of Worth Initiative, I shared a briefly my journey and the importance of all women knowing how worthwhile and valuable they are!
Janet Dominey, our key note speaker, shared her journey of being a homemaker for some 28 years to entering into a new journey with not one but two full time jobs, being on her own with four children. . . HELLO! Can you say panic button???? Not for Janet, she took the challenge and pulled herself and children up by the bootstraps. Her faith walk is incrediable.
Janet and I talked about how to make your fashion statement on a shoe string budget. Janet's outfit of a great pair of black dress pants, a leopard sweater and jacket and back boots cost her a mere $10 for all from a consignment shop.
Renita Peevy and Heather May (Mother and Daughter Team) owners of Monkey Charms sent three great outfits that could be mixed or matched - the most expensive outfit could be had for $50. Including Jacket/Top/Scarf! You don't have to go overboard. A great necklace, a scarf paired with something out of your own closet. Makes a fab new look and you don't have to spend a fortune to do so.
Two ladies received make overs on the spot for participating in the W.O.W. Event! Janet did a great job on the makeovers and shared about Arbonne products, skin care,a great line of vitamins, supplements and health care products that are natural and chemical free! There is even a line for men.
Janet also shared her experience as an Arbonne Consultant. There are so many success stories of women who had to begin again and made themselves very successful with Arbonne.
Let me just say I am a supporter of Arbonne International not only because gives great rewards to its consultants, but it also gives back to charities that make a difference in the lives of women and their families. Arbonne is the number one donor to the Sojourner Center, a place for domestic violence victims to go. Arbonne also has helped with Faces In The Mirror, a charity that helps Cancer victims feel beautiful by providing them with make overs with healthy Arbonne products.
Fab food: Hot apple cider with cinnamon, spice cake with the slightest hint of orange in the cream cheese icing was served. To satisfy the chocolate lover in all of us fudge type brownies topped with a little chocolate flower was the rage of the day! Also served were homemade oatmeal/raisin cookies and chocolate chip cookies. Honey Roasted peanuts and a chex mix treat were scattered through out the club house in cute crystal containers. All I can say is Yummy Yummy! And it was. . . .
One of the biggest hits was the Gift Basket Giver Away - furnished by Janet Dominey!
Filled with over $150 worth of Arbonne Products. Ladies had the opportunity of going by the Office of the apartment complex and putting their name in the hat. Janet also furnished a number of other door prizes.
Renita and Heather May added to the success of the day by furnishing us with wonderful gift certificates for door prizes. What a great prize - a good reason to make a mad dash to Monkey Charms!!!
Lisa and Heather from Cups Brandon furnished a delicious gift certificate for a coffee and sweet delight.
Twicechosen.net furnished books to inspire women to claim their worth and value by several different authors as door prizes.
The Women of Worth Event was for the women of the apartments I live in. The management were so gracious to allow us to use the club house.
So as you can see we had a great day that was packed with Fun - Fashion and Food.
What a great event! What a great day! Thanks to everyone for making The Women of Worth Holiday Fun Fashion and Food Event such a success. . . .
