The Grandmothers – Bless Be the Ties that Bind

Tonight I sat and pondered over the day, reflecting on how God orders our steps. He has a plan even when we don’t see the plan.

Earlier I was sitting visiting my friend Sigrid. It was not a planned visit on my part or her part but tonight was one of those God planned visits. We talked about our lives, our children, our grandchildren, what God seemed to be doing in our lives. Where we had been and where we are now. It was truly a God time.

Just before the visit ended, I made the statement to her about how some folks had asked me over the years how she and I got along. She is one of those “good girls” that God always seem to put in my life. I on the other hand am bold and at time most blunt.

I remember the first time I met Sigrid. It was years ago at a high school ballgame. My daughter was still in junior high school. Before I ever laid eyes on her, God had me on my knees for her. That particular night I handed her a small gift and a promise to keep her and her husband Ronnie in my prayers. All I knew was that it was important that I be obedient to God on this request.

This past June Sigrid and I stood together arm in arm with our children praying over our new grandson Vaiden – praying for his healing. Only Abba Father knew that very night He talked to my spirit, that Sigrid and I would embrace each other’s children and share grandchildren.

So to answer how do Sigrid and I get along? We get along great! For the ties that bind us are not just children and grandchildren. We are sisters in the Family of God. It is one thing to be joined by our children, it is a power source when two grandmothers who love God and believe His Word come together in unison believing Abba Father to guide and direct the path of their grandchildren! It is a win - win….

The Word of God says that where two or more agree in His name. He is there with them and He will honor their prayers.
