Just a little shy of 10 years ago I became a part of the Foundation, for me it is not just a job but a part of my heart. When I began seeing first hand the difference the Foundation has been making in the lives of others.
Twenty years ago the dream of three southern leaders --to make a difference in their three states (Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana)--came to reality through the birth of the Foundation for the Mid South. The Foundation is a regional community foundation that seeks to improve the quality of life for all residents. There is no other organization that works to lift up the needs of the Mid South and attracts resources from all over the world to create the conditions for positive change in the region.
The Foundation for the Mid South provides a bridge between national resources and expertise and our networks of local community leaders and grantees. As a partner, we are an entry point for major investment in the Mid South at the community and/or regional level.
An example of making the impossible possible:
An example of building today’s young people as tomorrow’s Leaders:
The Foundation has been supporting Food Banks to see to it children in our region have food to eat before it became the buzz theme of the past several years! Supporting Grandparents raising grandchildren giving them the sources they need to be successful and not forgotten. The list goes on. Want to know more click here-> Foundation for the Mid South.
The Foundation for the Mid South not only plays a vital role in the Mid South Region, but in our nation as well as we bring to the table our twenty year expertise of Community Development/Education/Health and Wellness and Asset Building. The Foundation was also a perfect partner after Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Gustav to aid in recovery. In the aftermath of the storms, we granted nearly $20 million!
